FIKA: GOOD THINGS FOR MARCH

Hello! It’s Autumn! What a time to be alive. It’s a season I like to think of as cool and crunchy. The early mornings will become crispy, and the summer balmy evenings will become chilly, but right now, in early March – it’s still warm and glorious! It’s like the bonus round on Letters and Numbers, the last pop of sunshine which makes it sweeter all the more.

Here are some things to savour in glow of these Summer/Autumn days.

EAT

Broccoli is one of my super favourite veggies, and is now in season! Yeh! I can hear the crowd going wild with green tree hysteria. Here’s a salad you can put on the table, or in your lunch box. If you’re a bit nervous by the apparent healthiness of the salad, note the amount of cheese and put yourself at ease.

But hey, if you’re not feeling up to the chop, just come over to ours in Thirroul. We’ve got a salad of snow peas, greens, cranberries, nuts, seeds and halloumi cheese that’ll knock your cranberries off.

DRINK

Burundi Rusekabuye! Bursting with sweet panela and red apple fruit notes, a great body and floral lightness. Its juicy red fruit flavour will sing with those juicy cranberries mentioned above, and its dark chocolate notes will pair very nicely with the choc fudge brownie for lunch desert.
