The specialty coffee industry has progressed in leaps and bounds within Australia over the last 5 years. As Sydney siders we are well versed with all the new espresso bars and roastery’s that have opened in the last few years. It is also common knowledge that Melbourne has an astounding role to play in the Australian specialty coffee scene. Perth however is a city that is not so often talked about when we think about coffee. We are Black Market Roasters, a Sydney Coffee Roaster and Wholesaler and Barista Course Trainers. We travel in Australia and throughout the world to keep updated on developments in the coffee industry so that we can translate that back to our Sydney Barista Courses and our wholesale coffee clients.

Perth is doing some amazing things over on the West Coast of Australia. With some of Australia’s best fresh produce grown on their doorstep, an abundance of winery’s and breweries, coffee is proving to fit in well with all the other specialty food products on offer and the locals are lapping it up. Here were our favourites:

Elixir Artisan Coffee Roasters

An old favourite in Nedlands. They roast their own coffee in house and deliver amazingly sweet, silky espresso’s with fresh harvest origins.

Typika

This warehouse style roastery has ample seating & churns out coffee like no other. Their roaster is smack bang in the middle of it all, so you can eye out all their fancy equipment until your heart is content.

Gordon St Garage

Food, wine, beer & COFFEE. This place has everything you need and a fit-out that will keep your eyes glossy for quite some time.

The Daily
