New BMR family addition is in the waters

With January behind us, we are well and truly into the year and looking forward to picking up some of our major projects again. This month we will throw ourselves into continuing our warehouse fit-out and make sure we are more than ready to accept our brand new Giesen roaster when it arrives in March (Needless to say we are all on the edge of our seats about this exciting new addition to the family).

Training

In the world of training, Franco is pumped about the enthusiasm of students that have enrolled in our courses throughout January.  Ready to learn, listen and become Baristas, we are grateful that with every class we run we get to meet so many cool people and share our passion for coffee whilst training future Baristas.  We are also making great progress on our new 3 week Barista training program that is designed to get people work ready and meet the industry standards required in today’s competitive specialty coffee market.

Coffee News

Daniel is currently on the hunt for some new Singles Origins to showcase over the coming months.  An exciting time for any roaster, it involves tasting many, many samples and deciding which coffees best suit the vibe for the coming line-ups.  We’ll be selecting some amazing fruit driven coffees, others will be ultra drinkable with caramello vibes and there are sure to be a few unique pieces in there too

New Partners

We are happy to have an excuse to get up to Crescent Head for a sneaky surf with Surfaris Retreat opening up their on-site cafe and bar last week!  Surfaris offer up chilled out holiday accommodation, catering for surfers of all levels.  Whether you’re a keen surfer or prefer to watch from the sand you’ll love the chilled vibes, healthy eats, chats and coffee from this crew.
